Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary

The Performance Improvement Consultant provides internal leadership and consultation for high profile, complex healthcare initiatives within revenue cycle. This position delivers transformational business plans based on thorough investigation of data, industry trends and best practices. The Performance Improvement Consultant leads initiatives from inception through completion by engaging cross functional teams of executives and managing project plans that ensure successful delivery of projects under aggressive deadlines. This position leverages broad, system-level thinking to aggressively target strategic, financial and operational goals that directly align with Eskenazi Health’s strategic plan.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

•    Provides expert-level direction and consultation for multiple high visibility projects to achieve significant and measurable improvements in organizational performance; leads projects from inception through completion, including action plans, communications plans, and developing and managing budgets
•    Conducts investigations through on-site visits, analyzing literature and best practices, and understanding and synthesizing stakeholder needs; uses the information to draft detailed, data-rich business proposals and comprehensible action plans
•    Provides advice and recommendations that are supported and justified by data and healthcare best-practices; ensures healthcare regulatory requirements are accounted for within planning and execution
•    Executes business proposals by assembling and coordinating high-functioning project teams; assigns project deliverables and manages assigned work by holding project team members accountable
•    Builds effective, highly trusted relationships with assigned clients to function as primary point of contact for projects and initiatives
•    Ensures deadlines, costs and outcomes are met; functions as the organizational advocate in all work efforts to ensure intent of work efforts benefit the health system as expected
•    Understands the intended audiences for the solution; keeps appropriate key stakeholders and business owners updated and engaged in project efforts; ensures confidentiality of investigation and planned initiatives, as appropriate
 

Job Requirements

•    Advanced degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field strongly preferred
•    3+ years of healthcare consulting experience
•    7 plus years of leadership experience; direct operations management experience is a bonus
